Dear neighbors,
My name is Tim Williams and I’m a concerned citizen just like you. Having lived in Assembly District 18 for many years and having grown up in Nevada, I understand what it takes to raise a family in this state.
It’s not always easy, but many of us get by. We work a little harder. We hold off on buying nice things. We focus a little more on what’s important in life.
Government isn’t always like that, but I think it could be. Right now, people are planning to cover a record-setting budget deficit in our state by increasing taxes. Many of those taxes won’t be so obvious. They will likely be imposed on businesses where we shop, on the restaurants were we eat, on the places where we work, and on fees that some people think we won’t notice.
But I have a question for you. Don’t we have it hard enough right now? Don’t we already worry about our future and the future of our children? Can we really afford to see our employers cut back more jobs and the cost of milk or gas climb another dollar per gallon? I don’t think we can.
Now I know our current representative likes to say he is proud of his record. Well, having worked in the construction industry as a union member, I’m not one to mince words. Our current representative has supported more taxes and fees than any assemblyman in our district’s history and now we find out that our growing state budget is not enough. I disagree. Enough is enough.
It’s time for our government to find ways to do more with less. And if you agree with me, I would appreciate your support in carrying your message to Carson City that enough is enough. Special interests don’t need as much help as the people who live here. Please call me at 702.497.5437 and join my campaign. I promise that I will always put working people and families first in Nevada.
Respectfully,
Tim Williams
Candidate for Assembly District 18
